About SplashSense

SplashSense is a free set of pool and hot tub calculators for owners who test their own water. Put in your test result and your pool size, pick the product you have, and get the amount to add. No sign-up, no app to install.

How we check the numbers

Wrong chemical amounts can damage equipment or make water unsafe, so every formula here is checked against at least two published references, such as chemical manufacturer technical data, product labels and university extension guides. Each calculator shows how it works and lists the sources it was checked against. Automated tests re-check the math every time the site is updated.

Product strengths vary between brands, so calculators ask for the strength printed on your label instead of assuming one. If your product label gives a different amount, follow the label.

SplashSense is independent. It isn't owned by, sponsored by or affiliated with any chemical brand, pool store or equipment maker. Results are general guidance for residential pools and hot tubs, not professional advice. Public and commercial pools follow local health codes; check with your local health department.
